Join Nancy Achberger for the opening of her solo exhibit with over 40 beautiful paintings of Milford's vibrant Main Street, historic district and the Little Miami River at Painted River Art Studio. The show and sale continues through Saturday, November 16th.

When riding through Milford, Ohio on the bike trail, taking a shopping stroll down its historic Main Street, or eating at establishments like 20 Brix, Chez Renee, Governor, Cincinnati Distilling, or Little Miami Brewing Company, stop and visit the Painted River Art Studio. From Nov 1-16 you can see something wonderful that came out of the recent pandemic.
Before we heard of COVID19, the historic entry doors of small businesses in Milford near her studio served as inspiration for accomplished artist Nancy Achberger. As she came and went to work on Main Street, her vision expanded to capture Milford’s charming buildings. From there she went beyond downtown to paint more of the town’s historic homes and landmarks, including expansive vistas.
During the COVID shutdown, downtown shopping spots like Villa Sanctuary; Enchanted Moments; Road, Rivers, and Trails; and Nancy’s Painted River Studio were closed to visitors. No vehicles blocked her views of the historic buildings. Gone were curious onlookers surrounding her easel with questions about the work. While Milford’s stores were shuttered, Achberger kept sketching, photographing, and painting the town! The result: over 40 beautiful pieces of art that she will exhibit in a one-woman show called “Rivertown Rendezvous: A Journey Through Milford” during the first 2 weeks of November.
Every week I realize how talented Nancy is when I paint outdoors with her and the Cincinnati Brush & Palette Painters. Educated at the Columbus College of Art and Design, her experience painting en plein air makes her one of the premier artists in that group and in greater Cincinnati. I’ve been lucky enough to see Nancy create some of these pieces from start to finish. Her passion for Milford shines through each one, making them all truly special. I can’t wait to see more than 40 of these paintings together in one place for the very first time!
I’m one of many painters who likes learning from Nancy Achberger and I benefit by just being around her. She is donating a portion of all sales from this exhibit to the Greater Milford Area Historic Society (GMAHS), which preserves and promotes the rich history of Milford and Miami Township, just as these paintings do.
